Kids on Campus will be held from June 28 to July 1 at Shawnee State University. Students may register for up to three courses per day. Courses in the selections will include dance, music, science, sports, cooking, foreign language, and etc.
Register before 5 p.m. on Friday, May 28, and pay only $45 per four-day course. Those who are interested may register by phone, with a credit card, by calling (740) 351-3274, fax registration to (740) 351-3598, stop in the office to register in person, or mail registration form to University Outreach Services, Shawnee State University, 940 Second St., Portsmouth, OH 45662. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
CROP Walk plans walk
The first meeting for the 2010 CROP Walk will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sciotoville Church of the Nazarene, 518 Sycamore St., Sciotoville. Any local food pantries that would like to receive a part of the proceeds from the day of the walk are invited to come and be a part of the committee.

Luminaria candles are available
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life will be June 25 and 26 at the Scioto County Fairgrounds, Fairgrounds Road, Lucasville. Participants will light luminaria candles in honor of cancer survivors and in memory of those who have lost their battle. The ceremony will take place at 9 p.m. June 25. The Survivor Lap will start at 6 p.m.
Friends and family members may purchase the luminaria from any of the 30 Relay for Life teams. Each luminaria bag will be in honor or in memory of someone touched by cancer. Each luminaria may be purchased for a minimum of a $10 donation.

Planetarium announces summer schedule
The Clyde W. Clark Planetarium public shows for summer semester will be every Monday and Thursday, beginning May 24, at 7 p.m. in the Advanced Technology Center on the Shawnee State University campus. The shows will continue through Thursday, Aug. 12, and the planetarium will be closed from July 20 through July 31.
All public shows are free and open to the public. School and educational groups may also schedule free private shows at the planetarium.
