The Green Bobcats appeared to peak when it mattered most. The team began tournament play with a barely above .500 a 11-10 but rattled off back to back wins to advance to the district final.
The Bobcats met their match in the final however, falling to Trimble on Friday at Rio Grande.
Green had just three hits in the final contest. Billy Moore was 1-for-4 with an RBI, Jayson Meenach was 1-for-2 and Caleb Lewis was 1-for-3 with an RBI in the loss.
The Bobcats will graduate five seniors from their 13-11 (9-3 SOC I) team — Moore, Meenach, Lewis, Nate Pinkerton and Brad Sanders.
"They built a great foundation for this team," Green coach Danny McDavid said. "Nobody around the area talked much about this team but we were one of the last 32 teams playing in our division."
