Norma J. Marshall, 70, of New Boston, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 24, 2010, in the SOMC emergency room.

Born July 12, 1939, in Sciotoville, she was a daughter of the late Everett and Lucy Watkins Craycraft and former teacher’s aide at the Carousel Center. Norma was a member of the New Boston Church of God of Prophecy.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, John Marshall Sr.; a son, Brian Keith Marshall; and sisters, Lola and Clotine Craycraft.

Surviving are a son, John Henry Marshall Jr. of Hallsville, Texas; a daughter, Kathy Hobson of Davis, Ill.; brothers, Walter Craycraft of Portsmouth and David Craycraft of Worthington; a sister, Nola Beardsworth of New Boston; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Friday at the New Boston Church of God of Prophecy, with Pastor Howard Pruitt. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call at the Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and at the church one hour before the service.
