She was born Aug. 29, 1921, in Jackson County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Raymond Fout Sr. and Golda Rhea Fout. On Aug. 27, 1940, she was united in marriage to James W. Fields who preceded her in death May 9, 1995.
She is survived by one son, James Earl Fields and wife Teresa of Beaver, Ohio; one daughter, Karen K. Flaster and husband Arthur of Los Angeles, Calif.; grandchildren, Amy Ranae Fields of Beaver, Ohio, James Jason Fields and wife Anita of Beaver, Ohio, Debra Spongin and husband Scott of Encino, Calif., and Stacy Stein and husband Jason of Los Angeles, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Andrea, and Jase Aaron Fields, Debon and Courtney Spongin, and Miles and Hannah Stein; brother, Donald Fout of Waverly; nephews, Gregory Fout and wife Toni of Waverly, Robert Fout and wife Sandy of Waverly, and Jonathan Fout of Waverly; niece, Vanessa Burkitt and husband Jeff of Piketon; sister-in-law, Berneta “Minnie” Fout; and special members of the Golden Girls, Opal Johnson, Elarose Schrader, and the late Loretta Allen.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond “Shorty” Fout.
Jane was retired from the Ohio State University Medical Center, with 27 years of service.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the Beaver Emmanuel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ronald Hines and Pastor Rod Brower officiating. Burial will follow at Beaver Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly and from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
