SSU hosts movie screening

Shawnee State University’s Office of Community Service will be hosting a screening of “Not Your Typical Bigfoot Movie” at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Flohr Lecture Hall in Clark Memorial Library.

The screening is a documentary about the lives of Bigfoot researchers Dallas Gilbert and Wayne Burton of Portsmouth. Both Gilbert and Burton will be in attendance and will be available for both answering questions and for autographs.

The screening is free and open to the public. Food and monetary donations will be accepted to support local food pantries.

Jeff Yalden speaks April 12

The Sciotoville Elementary Academy will host Jeff Yalden, motivational speaker and life coach, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 12, at the Sciotoville Christian Church, Third and Bloom streets, Sciotoville.

Mayor meets with Sciotoville residents

The mayor will be meeting with Sciotoville community members at 4 p.m. Thursday at Rose Park in Sciotoville to discuss upcoming, and much needed, clean-up and fix-up efforts centering on Rose Park facilities. This meeting will also function as a news conference in order to announce the start of these improvement projects. Residents are encouraged to attend this event in order to learn what is in store, but also to share of ideas regarding Rose Park improvements.
