Keith Diehlmann, 73, of Pickerington, formerly of Otway, died Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Mount Carmel East Hospital.

Born May 19, 1936, in Otway, Ohio to the late Henry A. and Lena Jewett Diehlmann, he was a 1955 graduate of Otway High School, received his B.S.ed. from Ohio University in 1962, and later received his M.E. from Xavier University. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and was a retired elementary school principal with the Columbus Public Schools. Keith was a charter member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, and was also active in the Columbus Folk Music Society and various dulcimer clubs.

Preceded in death by his wife, Patricia L. Diehlmann, in 1991, he is survived by his children, Erica (Craig) Swarts of Worthington, Lisa (William Deakin) Diehlmann of Chicago, and Andrew Diehlmann of Reynoldsburg; granddaughter, Ava Deakin; sisters, Shirley (Phil) DeLong of Dublin, and Donna (Norman) Shamis of Westerville; nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 550 Hill Road N. (St. Rt. 256), Pickerington. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 8630 Refugee Road NW, Pickerington, with the Rev. Paul Williams officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Garvin Cemetery in McDermott.

Donations to the American Heart Association in Keith’s memory are preferred.
