Joseph Scott Horsley, 51, Johnson City, Tenn., entered into rest Thursday, March 11, 2010, at his residence.

Joe was a native of Portsmouth, Ohio and had lived in Johnson City for the past several years. He was a son of Ronald and Barbara Bennie Horsley of Johnson City.

Joe was a graduate of Jackson High School of Jackson, Ohio, and a former employee of ABB Corporation.

He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.

Joe was an avid model builder, history buff and artist. He enjoyed reading, animals and the love of his life, his grandson, Gabriel. His closest friend was his mother with whom he shared a passion for cooking and dining.

In addition to his parents, he leaves, one daughter, Tara Horsley of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Joe Horsley and his wife Amy of Johnson City and Brendan Horsley of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Amy Bevins and her husband Brian of Johnson City, and Nikki Lenhart and her husband Kurt of Dayton, Ohio; one brother, Ronald J. Horsley and his wife Christy of Mount Vernon, Ohio; one grandson, Gabriel Horsley; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Butch, the cat. Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Todd Horsley.

A Celebration of Life Service for Joseph Scott Horsley will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010, from the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services. The Rev. Margaret Zeller will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until service time.
