The Fourth Annual Portsmouth St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been scheduled for Saturday, March 13, sponsored, as always, by the 7 Nations Celtic Club.

This year’s grand marshal is Dr. Clyde Fenton, of Doc Rock and the Remedies, and the parade theme is “Celtic Pride: Alive, Alive O!” Dr. Fenton is attending meetings in Florida this week and was not available to comment.

The parade will begin at Valley Foods Parking Lot on Market Street, in Portsmouth, at 3 p.m. March 13 and follow the same route as last year. The route will lead through Second Street, Washington Avenue, Fifth Street and Chillicothe Street, before ending at Tracy Park across from Kroger’s.

“The parade just keeps getting better every year and we hope this year will be the best so far,” Molly O’Bannion, chairperson of the 7 Nations Celtic Club, said. “There’s still time to be part of this year’s parade. Simply go to our Web site and fill out a parade application online.”

For more information about the 7 Nations Celtic Club and the St. Patrick’s Day parade, or for applications to participate in this year’s parade, visit them online at www.7ncc.org.
