Bill was a veteran of World War II, serving as a Sergeant in the 631st Tank Destroyer Battalion in Europe and was a charter member of the Beaver VFW number 9942. He was a farmer who was very proud that his land was in the beautiful Glade Flats, situated in Scioto Township in Jackson County. He was a 20-year employee of JISCO. His public service was completed with employment at Manpower in Jackson and the State of Ohio employment service from which he retired.
Bill is survived by one sister, Gladys Hoover Blake of Waverly. He is survived by three children, Mary (Don) Zentmeyer of Dallas, Texas, William (Diane) Hoover of Williamsburg, Ohio, and Frank (Peggy) Hoover of Beaver. He leaves eight grandchildren, Amy (Solomon) Foshko and Kevin of Austin, Texas, Greg and Steven Hoover of Williamsburg, Ohio, Molly (Tim) Seimetz of Jackson, Kasey (Pete) Holey of Covington, Ky., and Ty and Zach Hoover both of Jackson. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Abby and Ryan Seimetz and Robert Hunter Hoover. Also surviving is a special niece, Donna Thompson of Dayton.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Beaver, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at the Beaver Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Friends may call one hour before the service. Services will be officiated by Pastor Paula Christian.
