Virgil Ray Jordan, 57, formerly of South Webster, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at his home in Rome, N.Y.

Ray was born June 28, 1952, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of Marcella McGraw Jordan of South Webster and the late Virgil Jordan.

Ray was a 1970 graduate of South Webster High School. Ray was a U.S. Navy veteran, worked for Otis Elevator Co. in Washington, D.C., and most recently McIntosh Box and Pallet Co. in Rome, N.Y.

Ray enjoyed collecting and researching Indian artifacts, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his mother he is also survived by Karen Larsen of Rome, N.Y.; one daughter, Shawna Dotson of Lexington, Ky.; one son, Craig Jordan of Lexington, Ky.; two sister, Diana Jordan of South Webster and Rhonda Koch (John) of Lucasville; one brother, Ed Jordan (Debbie) of South Webster; three grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the D.W. Davis Funeral Home in South Webster, with the Rev. Paul Willis Hagen officiating. The burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. on Sunday at the D.W. Davis Funeral Home in South Webster.
