SSU women defeat Midway

Whitney Williams scored 24 points and Alison Meyer scored 23 as the Shawnee State women picked up their fourth win of the season on Tuesday by defeating Midway 88-62 on the road.

The No. 5 ranked Bears got a solid performance from Mallory Albers as well. Albers had 11 points and six assists in the win. Abby Ballman added 10 points for Shawnee State and Jill Cropper scored eight.

Midway was led by Whitley Henry's 15 points and Whitney Odom's eight.

The Bears were out-rebounded 34-31 and both teams committed 24 turnovers.

The Bears' biggest statistical advantage was 3-pointers. SSU hit 13 threes compared to seven for Midway.

Shawnee State has a week off before returning home to face Mount Vernon.
