She was born Nov. 1, 1910, in Greenup County, Ky., to Henderson and Mary Perry Smith. Lula lived most of her life in Wheelersburg, Ohio. Lula was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Al Smith; second husband, Robert Rowe; sons, Harold Ray Smith, William Roy Smith, and Clyde Donald Smith; brothers, William, Johnny, Frank, and Fred Smith; and sisters, Ida Belle Wilburn and Thelma Ruth Rose.
Lula is survived by her sons, Bernard Gene (Betty) Rowe and Rodney Lee Rowe, both of Wheelersburg, and Rocky Dean (Michelle) Rowe of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren, Jarrod (Shelley) Rowe, Kari (Kevin) Teeters, Kelly Payton, Aaron Rowe, Rhonda (Jerry) Tomlinson, Wesley (Ann) Rowe, Dan (Rita) Rowe, Tonya (Jim) Carver, Mark Smith, and Timothy Smith; sisters, Virginia Werley and Louise Martin; dear friend, Vicki Ousley; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville, Ohio, with Pastor Wesley Rowe officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. or Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
