I would like to ask all of Scioto County to vote for the renewal for the Senior Citizens Levy. I have voted for this levy many years knowing it served so many people.

I never realized that someday I would also be asking for their service. Now they see that I always get to my doctors on time. They also take me grocery shopping or for other needs.

I can’t imagine being without this service. Please join me at the polls and vote for the Senior Citizens Renewal Levy.

The Scioto County Senior Center provides invaluable services to the senior community not only in the New Boston area but throughout Scioto County. Included are such services as adult day care, homemaker, transportation, homebound escort, and socialization opportunities.

In New Boston, many of our seniors participate in these various services. Those people who don’t drive and can’t get family or friends to assist rely entirely upon the Senior Center’s transportation services for doctor’s appointments, groceries and picking up prescriptions. Socialization programs at the center provide many who live alone with the opportunity to meet, talk and just enjoy the companionship of others.

This levy is a renewal which means there is no additional costs to taxpayers. The Senior Center’s services have a proven track record of success. This Nov. 3, I urge all voters in New Boston and throughout Scioto County to vote to renew the levy and keep this vital asset in our community.
