She was born Nov. 30, 1933, in McDermott, a daughter of the late Charles and Leona Strickland Boldman.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Cox, Feb. 20, 1991; one brother, Paul “Tucker” Boldman; and one sister, Helen Wamsley.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Charles) Nichols of Otway, and Diana (Dave) Hiles of McDermott; one son, Jeffrey (Rhonda) Cox of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Jill (Greg) Carver and Jason (Sheila) Nichols; one stepgranddaughter; four great-grandchildren, Paul, Ryan, Blake and Brycen Carver; three stepgreat-grandchildren; three brothers, Ray, Harold, and Charles Boldman, all of McDermott; and one sister, Catherine Burchett of Dayton.
Marilyn was a homemaker, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, in Otway Cemetery, with Tim Throckmorton officiating. Friends may call 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marilyn’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
