She was born the daughter of Everett and Gertrude Thompson on Sept. 4, 1943, in Ashland, Ky. Her parents preceded her in death in 1988 and 1999. She became the wife of David Ford Sr. on Aug. 8, 1964, when she married him in New Rome, Ohio, and became the mother of David Ford II on June 13, 1967, in Webster City, Iowa. In February 1989, she became the mother-in-law to Julia Norris Ford.
Linda had worked in various secretarial positions and capacities for several years in charitable organizations and public employment. In 2000 she retired from Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission after 30 years of service. She had the God-given talent of music in which she was a masterful musician of the piano, organ and of song.
A Thursday, Oct. 8, viewing will be observed at Swick Bussa Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted by her former pastor the Rev. Terry L. Reece and assisted by the Rev. Samuel T. Salyer at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at the funeral home with visitation an hour before the service. She is to be interred at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.
