Irene Fields Whidden Williams, 90, of Rubyville, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at home.

She was born Aug. 25, 1919, in Lucasville, a daughter of the late Joseph Edwin and Cora Luster Fields. She was a former waitress and of the Baptist Faith.

She is survived by five daughters, Helen Lore, Sandra Moore, Susanne Walburn, Debbie Yeager and Karen Stone; two sons, Roy Lee Williams and Carl E. Williams; two sisters, Jessie Wicker and Betty Lou Nance; a brother, Ralph Fields; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Williams, in 1973; a son, George Edwin Williams; two sisters, Charlotte Williams and Evelyn McCain; and six brothers, Conrad Fields, Roscoe Fields, Russell Fields, Paul Fields, Edwin Fields and Raymond Fields.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston, with Peter Michael officiating. Burial will be at Hager Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 1 to 2 p.m. at D.W. Swick in New Boston.
