Ky. 784 remains closed

Ky. 784 at the Tygarts Creek bridge near the Greenup County (Ky.) community of Kehoe remains closed to through traffic.

Erosion from overwhelming rain in recent weeks apparently caused a section of roadway on the bridge’s east end to collapse recently. Repairs will be made as soon as possible. However, the roadway is impassable at the Tygarts Creek bridge, and will remain closed until further notice.

Barricades have been placed at the bridge, located just east of Ky. 2. Motorists should detour via Ky. 9, Ky. 1 or local routes.

Mosquito spraying is Sunday

Washington Township trustees will conduct mosquito spraying from 6 p.m. to midnight Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Ohio Pest Control Inc. in conjunction with the Porter Township trustees will conduct mosquito spraying from 9 p.m. to midnight Monday and Tuesday. If inclement weather prevents the spraying, then spraying will be done Aug. 17 and 18 at the same time.

Anyone with respiratory problems should consider closing their windows and shutting off any window unit air conditioners until the fog has dissipated.
