I guess some of the racial attitudes from the 50-60s will never die. They are generational in nature and very few in that age group view the world and its people in a colorblind sense. Every issue/angle and circumstance is viewed as black versus white and vice versa.
While today’s younger generation may get on some people’s nerves with their baggy pants and constant cell phone chatter at least they seem to truly understand that people are just people.
They might not be able to use half the vocabulary of Mr. Jenkins but at least there is a purity in their hearts as far as race relations go. The sooner the attitudes shown by him go away the better.
It was very strange to read a letter stating how correct Mr. Obama was when the president already admitted his mistake of commenting on an issue when he had no clue about the facts.
