Harry Molen Graff, 89, of Wheelersburg, went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 23, 2009, at the Ohio Veteran’s Home in Georgetown, Ohio.

Harry was born Oct. 7, 1919, in Coal Grove, to the late Harry Smith Graff and Carrie Molen Graff. Harry was a 1937 graduate of Green High School, a  graduate of Portsmouth Business College, and a former general manager of Portsmouth Mixed Concrete, and retired from the Standard Slag Company in 1973. Harry was a member of Porter Free Will Baptist Church for 50 years, and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, a staff sergeant with the 1st Battalion, 134th Field Artillery in the Southwest Pacific Area during World War II, where he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon and the American Defense Ribbon.

He was married Sept. 1, 1956, in Haverhill, to Lena Greenhill Cotten Graff, who preceded him in death Sept. 28, 1997.

Surviving are four daughters, Mary (Paul) Etterling of Wheelersburg, Diane (Rico) Garza of Kingsville, Texas, Mona Jo (Frank) Nichols and Lena (George) Grice, both of Wheelersburg; one son, Tim Fuller; one sister, Evelyn Hughes of Elon, N.C.; two brothers, Joe Graff of Haverhill and Arval Graff of Portsmouth; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009, at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with the Rev. George Grice and the Rev. Paul Ray Etterling officiating, with burial at Universal Cemetery, with military graveside rites by the James Irwin Post 622 American Legion. Friends may call Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour before the services at the funeral home.
