Herbert Aaron Markwell, 58, of Stout, died Thursday, June 18, 2009, at King’s Daughters Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 14, 1950, in Adams County, to the late John Robert Thomas and Mabel Ruth Furnier Markwell. He worked for Solid Rock Construction.

Herbert is survived by his wife, Naomi Faye Manning Markwell; two sons, Aaron and Herbert Markwell Jr., both of Stout; a daughter, Peggy Royster of Adams County; two brothers, Paul and Davis Markwell of Stout; two sisters, Linda Taylor of Adams County and Brenda Taylor of Stout; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a special friend and brother, Dwight McNutt.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2009, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with Tony Knittel officiating, and interment in McKendree Cemetery Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday.
