Barbara A. Browning Hatfield, 71, of Portsmouth, died Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

She was born March 31, 1938, in Fullerton, Ky., to the late Leonard and Mary Girdler Lyons Browning. She was a homemaker and a member of the Temple of Faith church. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband William Hatfield; daughter, Lucia Marie Spencer; two brothers, Jim and Joseph “Joe” Browning; and four grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by two daughters, Linda (Danny) McKenzie of Portsmouth and Anna Hatfield (Doug Burditt) of Wheelersburg; two brothers, Charles Browning and Paul Browning, both of West Portsmouth; a sister, Mary Browning of Portsmouth; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with Pastor Michael J. Phillips, and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
