Timothy Regan Shields, 57, of Portsmouth, died Friday, May 8, 2009, at his home.

Born Feb. 18, 1952, he was a son of Norma Wakefield Shields of Portsmouth and the late Ralph Morris Shields. Tim was employed at Nationwide Insurance Co. in Flatwoods, Ky., with 28 years of service, was a 1970 graduate of Portsmouth High School, and attended Ohio University.

Also surviving besides his mother are his wife, Myra Delamater Shields, two sons, Jason Andrew (Christina) Shields of Jackson and Adam Ryan Shields of Portsmouth; a sister, Melody Pontious of South Shore, Ky.; a grandson, Elijah Andrew Shields; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with Mark Seevers officiating. The family will receive friends at Brant’s from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
