All letters must be verified (a phone call from the Times must be made to the author, or the author must present identification in person). Verified letters will be printed on the Editorial Page through the Tuesday, April 28 issue. No letters will be published after that date unless a correction is required (no responses or rebuttals will be published). The following guidelines apply:
1. Letters pertaining to the issues (taxes, levies, fiscal management, etc.) are permitted.
2. Statements of endorsement of candidates, candidate-specific races, or letters addressing issues regarding individuals are not included in the letters section and must be a paid advertisement. Letters from candidates themselves must also be paid advertisements. Call 353-3101 and ask for Advertising.
3. All letters will follow publicly accepted protocol regarding language, innuendo, name-calling, or other derogatory statements.
4. The Daily Times reserves the right to edit (or refuse) any letter for length, grammar, or clarity.
