Frances Faye Wooten, 75, of Sciotoville, died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at her home.

She was born in Elliott County, Ky., to the late John Wesley and Dovie Sparks.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Dee “Doc” Wooten of Portsmouth; two brothers, Vick Sparks of Elliott Co., Ky., Orville Sparks, as well as Orville’s wife, Mary, both of Portsmouth; a sister, Ruby Ball, as well as her husband, Gene, both of Sunbury, Ohio; two nephews, Danny Sparks and Orville Sparks Jr., both of Portsmouth. Also preceding her in death were two brothers-in-law, Bernard Hall of Minford and Jim Bussey of Portsmouth.

Frances is survived by four daughters, Rikki Dawn (Jason) Ervin of Wheelersburg, Dierdre’ Faye (Mark) Van Horn of Sciotoville, Donda Renee’ Brown of Hillard, and Davida Jo Elliott of Webster, Texas.

She is also survived by a brother, Rick Sparks of Lucasville; four sisters, Mavis (Ron) Crabtree of Minford, Ranie (Charles) Justice of Portsmouth, Gertrude (Ora) Kazee of Ashland, Ky., and Jonnie Sue (Richard) Smith of Waverly. She is survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless long-time friends. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

A memorial service to celebrate her life is pending for a future date and will be announced promptly. Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville is assisting the family with the arrangements.
