PDT Sports Report

Although it was a week in the making, Portsmouth Post 23 snapped a seven-game losing streak Sunday with a split at Chillicothe Post 62.

Post 23 earned a 7-0 win in the opener thanks to a one-hitter thrown by Zach Brown and a five-run sixth inning to break the game open. Garrett Carmichael, Brady Johnson and Dylan Miller each had two-hit games for Portsmouth.

In the finale, the River Bats claimed the split with a 1-0 decision thanks to an unearned run in the first. Daulton Kenyon, Wesley Book, Derek Moore and Ben Arnold recorded the four Post 23 hits while Johnson suffered the defeat.

Portsmouth will travel to Piketon Monday to play a single contest with Waverly Post 142 then to Chillicothe Post 757 for a Tuesday doubleheader.
