OSHP seach for driver involved in fatal hit-skip crash

CHILLICOTHE — The Ohio State Highway Patrol requested public assistance Tuesday in its search for Paul R. Riggs, Jr., 30, of Waverly. Riggs is wanted in connection with a Monday hit-skip accident that killed two adults, an unborn child and injured another juvenile.
Pike County Court issued a warrant for Riggs’ arrest Tuesday. He is wanted on three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of aggravated vehicular assault.
The OSHP said Riggs was last seen fleeing the scene of the fatal crash that occurred at approximately 7:38 p.m. Monday evening on River Road in Pike County.
The vehicle Riggs was operating a vehicle eastbound on River Road and drifted left of center, striking a westbound vehicle operated by Tina L. Ogier, 35. Ogier, her unborn child and passenger Mary Jane E. Cooper, 19, died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. All were of Beaver, Ohio.
A 14-year-old male passenger was also injured in the accident.
