Authorities say they suspect alcohol to have been a factor in a crash that claimed the life of a central Ohio woman Saturday. Pronounced dead at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, was April D. Rutledge, 31, Bainbridge, Ohio.


The Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one vehicle fatal crash that occurred at approximately 10:10 p.m. Saturday, on Ohio 41 near Fruitdale in Ross County.


Rutledge was reportedly operating a 1995 Ford Explorer northbound on Ohio 41 near Milepost 14 when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned several times. Rutledge was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. She was transported from the scene by Greenfield E.M.S. to Greenfield then flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton where she was pronounced deceased.


The crash remains under investigation.
