South Point man faces 10-year sentence
PDT Staff Writer
A Lawrence County man could spend the next 10 years in prison. Greg Knipp, 46, of South Point, pled guilty to four counts of gross sexual imposition, which are third degree felonies in the state of Ohio.
Knipp entered a guilty plea through his defense counsel, Mike Davenport. Lawrence County Prosecuting Attorney Brigham M. Anderson said Assistant Prosecutor Michael Gleichauf recommended a sentence of 10 years in prison and mandatory registration as a Tier-2 sex offender for 25 years.
Judge Charles Cooper heard Knipp’s guilty plea and accepted the state’s recommendation.
Knipp was indicted by a Lawrence County grand jury in March of this year after an investigation conducted by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Detective Aaron Bollinger.
