If you have driven past Victorious Life Worship Center at 4029 Gallia Street in New Boston this week, you may have done a double take because of a new sign on the front lawn.
“We have now purchased a Tek Star LED sign from Stewart Sign Company in Sarasota, Fla.,” Pastor Vicki Bays said. “I contacted Stewart Sign Company approximately six months ago to create and design a sign to be a living display that would reveal that we are not only here, but a ministry that is alive and thriving.”
Bays said Victorious Life Worship Center began in 1999 at a storefront building on Second Street in Portsmouth. She said in September of 2000 the congregation moved to Ohio River Road in Wheelersburg where they remained for six years. It was in 2006 that they moved and then purchased and renovated a 5,000 square foot building in Wheelersburg, before locating where they are now in the former New Boston Methodist Church, a building that was also occupied by other entities between serving as a church facility.
“Due to lack of lighting in front, it has been spoken that passers-by can’t even tell if we are here,” Bays said. “We have been told that we are the best kept secret in Scioto County.”
Bays said, in addition to ministry announcements, the sign is capable of presenting bright, colorful displays and videos she hopes will encourage and uplift all who pass by. She said it will also serve as a landmark for public service. Bays said the church meets on Sunday at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Wednesday at 7 p.m. Their service schedule is Sunday 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. — Wednesday 7 p.m. Their website is victoriouslifeworshipcenter.org and they are also on Facebook.
“Our sign is our investment in the mission and ministry of Victorious Life Worship Center. It is an outreach to the community, and will present a living message that represents our vision to passers-by,” Bays said. “The purchase of this sign is a true milestone for us. We will continue to be unwavering in our mission to reach the world with the message of The Gospel of Jesus Christ and to help others obtain Victorious Life through Him.”
