Children’s Artist Buffet

Tail Waggin’ Tutors
Certified Therapy Dogs from the Southern Ohio All Breed Dog Club (and their owners) will be at various library locations. The dogs will be available to listen to any young reader wishing to practice their skills.
At Lucasville-Fridays from 3-5 p.m. and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month
Portsmouth- 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month from 2-4 p.m.

Upcoming Adult/Teen Activities Announced
Adult Painting Class
The New Boston Branch Library will be hosting a painting class for adults May 20. The class begins at 5:30 p.m. There will be limited available seating, please stop by to pre-register, fee is required at sign-up. For more information, call the New Boston Branch Library at 456-4412.
Pieces & Patches Quilting
The Pieces & Patches Quilting Group will meet at the Lucasville library location May 20 from 6 – 7:45 p.m. This quilting group welcomes beginners as well as experienced quilters. (This is an Adult Program)
The Portsmouth Public Library will be hosting its Yoga group at 10am in the Copley Meeting Room on Tuesday, May 21.
Inspirational Book Group
The Inspirational Book Group will be meeting at the Main Branch May 21 at 12pm. We are always looking for more people to join the interesting discussions we have about books.
Climbing Your Family Tree-A Beginner’s Class
Trying to begin your genealogy but don’t know where to start? Can’t find it on the Internet? This class is for you! Call 354-5304 to register. Class will be located in the Local History Department of the Portsmouth library location May 21 at 4 p.m. Materials will be provided. Ages 13-adult.
Dinner & a Movie
The South Webster Branch Library will be hosting Dinner and a Movie for adults over the age of 18 on May 21 from 5 t0 7:30 p.m. Registration is required. Don’t forget to bring a covered dish to share. A full length movie will be shown. For more information, contact the South Webster Branch Library at 778-2122.
Please join us in this new adventure to get to know each other, the community and its history. As an informal discussion group, we will use materials from the Local History Department, but encourage everyone to share their experiences and memories. Sign Language Basic Class
Do you want to learn sign language? Come join us to broaden your language skills and have some fun. The class occurs twice a month at the Main Branch. The next class will take place May 24 at 3:30 p.m. It is free of charge, but you must sign-up in advance by calling 354-5688 ext. 0 or visiting the Reference desk.

Book Sale Drawing:
In May, you could win a fun book purse made from recycled books. For every item you buy from our book sale, you will be entered into a drawing to win this craft.
All through the month of May you can participate in our monthly trivia contest. You can pick up a copy of the trivia sheet at the Main Branch or go to our website at yourppl.org to fill it out. All entries need to be turned in by May 31st.
