Chinese auction is Saturday
Scioto Township Fire Department will have a Chinese auction from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the multipurpose building at the Pike County Fairgrounds, U.S. 23, Piketon. There will be hot dogs, popcorn, pop, coffee and desserts available.
Senior center plans fundraiser
The Pike County Senior Center will have its 15th annual Bluegrass County Music Fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Community Action Committee of Pike County Senior Center, 408 Walnut St., Waverly. The event will feature Lisa Jordan, Evans and Kellough and Friends, Ron Workman and Jordan Run Bluegrass, and Sonny and June Carpenter. A $5 donation will be payable at the door, and there will be lots of food for sale.
Also the senior center will have a bake sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be homemade pies, cakes, breads, cookies and candies.

Legacy run is May 5
Valley Local Schools with host its first annual Valley Legacy Run on May 5. The Valley Legacy Scholarship Fund will have its first “Valley Legacy Run” 5K Run/Walk in honor of Larry Lute. Participants can preregister at www.valleyls.org. Cost for the race will be $15 or $20 on race day. There will also be a one-mile run ($10, $15 race day, and one mile Kids’ Fun Run ($5, $7 race day.) All participants will receive a T-shirt, and awards will be given to top overall male and female runners and walkers. Proceeds from the run will benefit the Valley Legacy Scholarship Fund, in honor of Larry Lute.
