Stanley Elmer Parker, 64 of Fire Tower Rd., Bainbridge, Ohio died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at the V.A. Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born on Oct. 4, 1948, in Morgantown, Ohio to the late Roy Elmer Parker and Anna Marie Herman Parker-Brewer.
Surviving is one daughter, Laura Marie Parker of Bainbridge, three sons: Stanley David Parker of Peebles, Douglas Roy Parker and his fiance’ Tiffany Bird of Peebles, Christopher Lee Parker of Columbus, one step son, Ronald “RP” Parker of Waverly, his fiance’ Brenda Greene of Bainbridge, and her children: William Greene and wife, Heather of Lucasville, and Michelle Mathews and husband, Dwayne of Waverly. Four grandchildren: Nicholas, Jayme, Devin, and Carmelia Parker, one brother, Timothy Parker of Bainbridge, one sister, Shirley Toney of Indianapolis, Ind. and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was an electrician and retired from the Ohio Dept. of Transportation with over 25 years of service, a member of the Orient Lodge #321 F.&A.M. of Waverly, a member of V.F.W. Post 2832 of Piketon, a member of the American Legion-Merritt Post #142 of Waverly, AMVETS, and a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Gardner Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion-Merritt Post #142. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly. A Masonic service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
