Marguerite Russell, 96

Marguerite Louise Russell age 96 of Wheelersburg died Feb. 3, 2013, at SOMC Hospice. She was born Jan. 8, 1917, in Portsmouth to the late Frank Bauer and Josephine Scherer Bauer.

She was a member of Saint Monica Catholic Church, a former secretary for Saint Peter’s over 55 club and a charter member of the New Boston Fraternal Order of Eagles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Jesse (Tug) Russell. They were married Feb. 17, 1943, in Tulsa, Okla.

She is survived by one son, Jack (Andi) Russell, one daughter, Vicki Reinhardt, six grandchildren, Amy (Mark) Miller, Michele (Bill) Compton, Bryan Reinhardt, Aaron Russell, Lisa Roberts and Marianne Russell-Herr and six great grandchildren, Nathan Compton, Tyler Compton, Luke Miller, Brooklyn Miller, Maggie Jo Allen and John W. Allen.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Frances Bauer Danials, four brothers, Martin Bauer, Howard Bauer, Joe Bauer and Jack Bauer and one great grandson, Brad Russell.

Funeral services will be conducted, Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Saint Peter’s Catholic Church with Reverend Joseph Yokum officiating. Burial will be in Saint Peter’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with recital of the Rosary at 4 p.m.
