Ruby Garnet Cantrell Prince, 92


Ruby Garnet Cantrell Prince, 92, of West Portsmouth, entered into the kingdom of Heaven on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at the River Bend House in Wheelersburg. Ruby was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Otway, to the late Sidney and Louise Penn Cantrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arther Ray Prince, whom she married, Nov. 1940; one sister, Fairy Gayle Cantrell; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Prince; and one son-in-law, Bill Shinkle.


Ruby is survived by one son, Arther Ray Prince of Columbus; two daughters, Deborah (Ken) Slish of Pittsburg, Pa., and Gayle Shinkle of West Portsmouth; eight grandchildren, Todd (Tammy) Hazelbaker of Otway, Kim Bridwell of West Portsmouth, Craig (Meleah) Hazelbaker of Friendship, Michelle Prince of Reynoldsburg, Jeffrey Prince and Nicole (Graham) Couzens both of Pickerington, Kenneth (Jessica) Slish and Corinne (Patrick) Coulson both of Pennslyvannia; and 10 great grandchildren, Morgan, Mason, Caleb C., Gracie, Carson, Jerrica, Caleb H., Ethan, Abigail and Tehya.


A Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at the ADKINS-BRANT FUNERAL HOME in Portsmouth with Rev. Chris Wiseman officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the Adkins-Brant funeral home in Portsmouth from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.adkinsbrantfuneralhome.com.
