Wendell Howell, 72

Wendell E. Howell, 72, of Portsmouth died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at home after a long battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 18, 1940, in South Webster, a son of the late Milburn and Rebekah Barry Howell. He was retired from the maintenance department at the Scioto County Courthouse.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Thomas Howell; two sons, Randy (Alice) Howell of Ashville, Lyndell (Debbie) Howell of Portsmouth; three daughters, Julie (Richard) Hobbs of Lucasville, Brenda Crabtree and Melanie (Clinton) Driskell all of Portsmouth; a sister, Juanita Canter of Pickerington; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON with Pastor Lorenzo Bentley officiating. Visitation will be Friday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. “Grandpaw Loves You.” Condolences to dwswickfuneralhome.com.
