Charlotte Mayo, 71

Charlotte Louise Mayo, 71, of Marysville, a former Portsmouth resident, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Memorial Hospital in Marysville. She was born Sept. 14, 1941, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Charles Walter and Edna Louise Swords Price.

Charlotte was a homemaker and a 1959 graduate of Portsmouth High School.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, George Justice Mayo, Sr., whom she married in Portsmouth Sept. 21, 1961. Also surviving are her son, George “Bose” (Amanda) Mayo of Lucasville; two daughters, Elena “Ellie” Mayo Sparks of Russell, Ky., and Elaine (Victor) Mayo Jimenez of Marysville; two brothers, Charles Walter (Malinda) Price of Portsmouth, and Harold R. “Tony” (Judy) Price of Smithville, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the RALPH F. SCOTT FUNERAL HOME in Portsmouth with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Tony Price will officiate the funeral services.
