David Shump, 75
David Leroy Shump, 75, of Lucasville, Ohio, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born Aug. 19, 1937, in West Portsmouth to the late Edwin Leroy Shump and Ollie Grace Criswell. He was a graduate of Sandusky High School; a United States Air Force veteran; a member of James Dickey Post #23 American Legion; and retired office manager of Valli Chiropractic of Portsmouth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Edwin Shump; and one sister, Jenny Valli.
David is survived by two sons, David Shump of Denver, Colo., and Chris Shump of Vail, Colo.; and a special friend, Betty Day. He is also survived by two grandsons, Josh and Charley Shump; plus two special granddaughters, Brooke and Braiden Day.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Minister Ed Crabtree officiating. Interment will be in Cooper Cemetery, Mohawk Drive. Graveside military rites will be conducted by James Dickey Post #23 American Legion. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, at McKinley’s.
