The Northwest Board of Education met for their Regular Meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at 6 p.m. in the Northwest High School Media Center. The Board conducted the following business:

• Passed a resolution to approve the minutes of the Regular meeting on August 21, 2012.
• Passed a resolution to employ substitute teachers for the 2012-2013 school year.
• Passed a resolution to amend teachers’ salaries for 2012-2013 for additional training and/or experience.
• Passed a resolution to accept notifications of retirement of certified personnel.
• Passed a resolution to accept notification of retirement of classified personnel.
• Passed a resolution to approve home instruction personnel for the 2012-2013 school year.
• Passed a resolution to approve expenditure of Professional Development Funds for Grade Level and Department Chairs for the 2012-2013 school year.
• Passed a resolution to approve District Leadership Team (DLT) and Race to the Top Transformation Team (RttT) stipend payment for 2012-2013 school year.
• Passed a resolution to accept bid placement for classified personnel for the 2012-2013 School year.
• Passed a resolution to accept resignation of supplemental personnel for 2012-2013.
• Passed a resolution to employ supplemental personnel for the 2012-2013 school year.
• Passed a resolution to approve classified substitute staff for the 2012-2013 school year.
• Passed a resolution to approve volunteers for the 2012-2013 school year.
• Passed a resolution to employ site coordinator for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant (“Education Station”) with Shawnee State University.
• Passed a resolution to employ “Education Station” personnel for 2012-2013.
• Passed a resolution to approve bus drivers for 2012-2013 “Education Station” After School Academic Intervention Program.
• Passed a resolution to enter into agreement between Valley Local School District and Northwest Local School District.
• Passed a resolution to approve contract with Scoca for Field Technician Services for the 2012-2013 school year.
• Passed a resolution to approve 1st Grade Standards Base Report Card.
• Passed a resolution to adopt new board policies.
• Passed a resolution to update current board policies.
• Passed a resolution to approve reduction in force/non-teaching personnel.
• Passed a resolution to adopt amended Certificate of Estimated Resources for 2012-2013.
• Passed a resolution to adopt Permanent Appropriations for July 1, 2012 - June 30, 2013.
• Passed a resolution for Treasurer to submit Northwest Fiscal Caution Proposal.
• Passed a resolution to accept Foundation for Appalachian Ohio Grant.

The next regular board meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012 at 6:00 pm in the Northwest High School Media Center.
