Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini announced that his office has, in recent days, been working on several burglaries which occurred in Porter Township and Vernon Township during the month of September.
Donini said detectives had been actively searching for the suspect and were able to recover some of the stolen property.
Donini said Friday, one of his detectives was responding to an Elliot Hill location to attempt to recover a stolen dirt bike when the suspects vehicle was observed in the driveway. Deputies along with a detective were able to gain entry into the residence where they found the suspect hiding in the restroom. The suspect was detained without incident and brought to the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office for questioning.
Arrested was Zachary K. Hightower, 27 of Wheelersburg. He has been charged with four counts of burglary, a felony of the second degree. Hightower was held on a $40,000 bond.
Donini said more charges will be presented to the Scioto County grand jury at a later date. He said anyone with information concerning the burglary should contact Detective Jodi Conkel at the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office – 740-351-1091 . All calls will remain anonymous.
