Roger Gahm Sr., 72

Roger Lee Gahm Sr., 72, of Lucasville, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, from Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.

He was born June 8, 1940, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Virgil and Dorothy Mae Buckle Gahm.

He was a retired electrician from Martin Marietta, owner and operator of Gahm’s Electric, and was a 1958 Valley High School graduate. Roger was a former member of the Valley Local School District Board of Education with over 30 years of service. Roger was a member and faithfully attended New Beginnings Church in Beaver.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Darlene Daniel Gahm, who he married Dec. 25, 1959, in Lucasville; two daughters Lisa (Dean) White Novinger of Portsmouth and Lori (Donnie) Shope of Lucasville; three sons Roger Lee (Vicki) Gahm Jr. of Lucasville, Rodney (Kim) Gahm of Lucasville, and Ryan Gahm of Lucasville; six grandchildren, Jud White, Roger Lee Gahm III, Boo White, Ricky Gahm, Nicholas Gahm, and Beckah Gahm Williams; two great grandchildren, Tristyn Smith and Xavier Gahm; two brothers Eugene (Janet) Gahm and John Gahm both of Lucasville.

A memorial service will be held 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at the Valley High School Gymnasium with Barry Pelphrey and Andy Day officiating. The family will receive friends 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the school. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
