Valley 3, Minford 2
Valley and Minford tennis clashed Thursday evening and the Lady Indians came away with a 3-2 win.
Jamie Justice took the No. 1 singles match from Valley’s Jessica Bender 6-0, 6-3 but Nicole Miles took the No. 2 singles match with a 6-7 (7-3), 6-1, 6-2 win over Minford’s Katie Singer.
No. 3 singles went to Minford’s Emma Shephard as she beat Lauren Arguello 6-3, 6-3.
Maddie Harley and MacKenzie Rowe of Valley won the No. 1 doubles match 6-2, 6-4 over Minford’s Macaela Liles and Hannah Harris.
No. 2 Doubles went to Morgan Castle and Kali Mayo of Valley as they defeated Minford’s Emily Joyce and Kristen Lewis 6-0, 6-4.
Wheelersburg 3, Portsmouth 2
Wheelersburg took down Portsmouth 3-2 in girls tennis action Thursday.
The Pirates travel Wednesday to Notre Dame.

New Boston met up with Green Thursday evening and took the match in a sweep.
Hannah Bender had 17 points, 13 assists and four aces for the Lady Tigers while Emily Waugh had 14 points and eight digs.
New Bostonwill next play Eastern on Tuesday.

Waverly def. Wheelersburg 25-17, 25-12, 25-16
Waverly traveled to Wheelersburg Thursday night and went back to Pike County winners in a sweep.
Hannah Martin had four digs and eight kills for Waverly while teammate Bri Wiget had 11 kills and four digs.
Kelsey Mays had eight kills and eight digs for Waverly while Kayla Riffe compiled 16 digs.
Kala Hall had 34 assists for the Lady Tigers.

Host Valley earned its second win of the season to post a four-set victory over Minford.
Bethany Conley led the Indians with 14 kills and 10 points, four of them coming off aces. Elysia Montgomery also had 10 points to go along with her 30 assists.
McKenzie Coriell finished with 17 digs. Valley travels Saturday to Beaver Eastern for a tri-match.

Clay def. Western 25-17, 25-17, 25-18
Clay hosted Western Thursday night and won in a sweep.
Marta Tomasi had 13 points, six aces and seven kills for Clay while teammate Gabby Hickman had 12 points, six aces and 29 assists.
Clay will play next at Symmes Valley on Tuesday.

Ali Miller of Portsmouth defeated Jessica Schmidt of Notre Dame 6-3, 6-1 in No. 1 singles.
Katie O’Neill of Notre Dame beat Alex Scott of Portsmouth 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 2 singles match.
No. 3 singles went to Lydia Cohen of Portsmouth when she defeated Notre Dame’s Allyson Ware 6-2, 6-2.
Sarah Raies and Allison Raies of Portsmouth beat Crystal Holtgrewe and Trista Davis of Notre Dame 6-1, 6-0 in No. 1 doubles while Molly Kammler and Mazie Lawson of Portsmouth defeated Tori Ruggles and Keely Taylor 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 in the No. 2 doubles match.
GOLF
Clay and Wheelersburg won the SOC I and SOC II league titles after this week’s final conference matches for both divisions.
The Panthers’ Zach Jackson and the Pirates’ Mitchell McFarland were named Players of the Year in their respective divisions. Wheelersburg then went on to win Wednesday’s quad match at Shawnee Golf Course against Portsmouth, Northwest and Clay.
District golf action starts next week.
