The State Fire Marshal’s office was called in Thursday to investigate a fire at 101 Dawson Drive in Wheelersburg. A Scioto County Sheriff’s deputy said when he arrived at the scene of the blaze, the Porter Township Fire Department was at the scene extinguishing the fire at the dwelling.

The deputy spoke with firefighters, got statements from neighbors and made contact with Karen Dawson, who lived at the house. Firemen at the scene said the fire originated in the living room and front porch attic area of the residence.

Deputies said neighbors gave them information on what they saw as the fire started. They then called the State Fire Marshal’s office to investigate.

According to the Sheriff’s report, the house was valued at $200,000.
