Maggie Stegman led the Pirates with 13 kills, Hanna Duckworth recorded 37 assists and Brooke Adams finished with five digs. Wheelersburg (6-4, 4-2) return home Tuesday to take on Northwest.

Visiting New Boston reached the .500 mark in the league Thursday with a four-set victory over host East in SOC I play.
Hannah Bender and Kaitlyn Fannin led the Tigers with eight points each while Mariah Speas chipped in with four blocks. Bender recorded seven assists while Fannin and Speas tied with four kills.
New Boston (3-4, 3-3) travels Tuesday to Clay.

Minford wins tri-match
Although West’s Todd Galloway shot a 40 in Thursday’s tri-match with Minford and Valley at Shawnee Golf Course, it was the Falcons who won with a team score of 201.
The Senators finished second with a 209 and the Indians came in with a 214. Valley’s Darby High (42) and Minford’s Matt Parker (47) were their school’s low shooters.
All SOC II teams converge onto the Elks Country Club for the final league match. The preview will be Monday and the finals will be Tuesday.
