August and September represents the beginning of our educational goals for the fall. Your goals, educational or personal, will have a higher rate of success with a plan of action to succeed. How you ask?
First of all, ask yourself, these questions:
1. What Is my purpose, mission, or long-term goal?
2. Will it create a win-win situation for myself and another?
3. Am I willing to be consistent and persistent by taking action on a regular basis?
4. What are the days and times I will apply myself?
5. How will I monitor my progress?
6. Who will connect with for support?
Now that you have answered these questions, you are mentally set with direction to the next level.
Yes, with a clear picture and steps for your purpose or educational goal, you have now built a foundation to keep you focused on what is important each day. The good news is that you will be able to make wise decisions with your time because of your purpose or goals.
An important thought to keep in mind is that you cannot do everything others want you to do and stay focused on your goals. If you find you cannot finish everything, it means you are trying to do more than is realistic or more than is intended for one person.
Learning to be focused on your goals takes courage because you must learn to say “no” to the unimportant and “yes” to the important. In making your decisions to stay focused, ask your self “which action has the highest payoff in one to five years?” Your answers will lead you to success and a focused simple life with peace of mind.
I challenge you this month to set a plan of action for success in your educational and personal goals.
