One man has been arrested and another remains at-large in a home invasion in Franklin Furnace in which a woman was tied up.

Arrested was Randall Walker, 36, of West Portsmouth. Walker has been charged with aggravated burglary a felony of the first-degree; kidnapping, a felony of the first-degree; theft from the elderly a felony of the fifth-degree and possession of criminal tools, a felony of the fifth-degree. Walker is being held without bond and will appear in Common Pleas Court on a later date.

Also wanted in connection with the entry is Joshua P Whitt, 34, of South Webster. Whitt has an indictment warrant out for his arrest on the same charges as Walker. Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini says if anybody knows his location they are being requested to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Donini said his 911 communication center received a call on July 21 from an elderly female stating that she was at her home located on Junior Furnace Powellsville Road in Franklin Furnace when two male subjects forced their way into her residence. The victim told investigators once inside the males tied her arms and legs up and attempted to shove her into a closet. The victim said one male subject was wearing a mask the other one had nothing covering his face. The house was ransacked and several items were taken from her residence.

Donini said deputies and detectives along with EMS responded to the residence which resulted in a report being filed that was forwarded to a detective for an investigation.

After an ongoing investigation charges were presented to the Scioto County grand jury which resulted in an indictment warrant being filed against the suspects. On Monday one of the suspects, Randall Walker, was arrested at his West Portsmouth residence. Several attempts have been made on Joshua Whitt the second suspect.

Donini said if anyone has any information regarding the case they should contact Detective Jodi Conkel at 740-351-1091 all calls will remain anonymous.
