A Columbus man has been arrested on kidnapping charges after a woman says he beat her severely and would not let her escape from her apartment. Nin Sang, 34 of 64 Buckeye Circle, Columbus, faces charges of kidnapping and felonious assault after the incident on Friday night into Saturday morning.

Portsmouth Police were called to 1723 Wayne Ave., Apartment I, where Krista Tackett, 23, of that apartment, ran to them telling officers she had been beaten by Sang, who had left the scene in a truck.

According to the police report, she told authorities he would not stop kicking and punching her, and when she tried to escape, would throw her back down and kick and punch her.

Several minutes later the truck was spotted at the Speedway parking lot at the corner of Gallia Street and Kendall Avenue in Portsmouth, and Sang was arrested.

Police also charged Tackett in a warrant issued for failure to appear.
