New Boston Police Captain Steve Goins says a New Boston woman whom he said had been selling prescription drugs out of her apartment is now behind bars.

Clerinda Vincent, 50, of 3906 Stanton Ave., Apartment B, located within the Boston Commons apartment complex, is charged with trafficking in drugs - hydrocodone pills, a Schedule III drug and possession of drugs - hydrocodone pills over bulk amount, all felonies of the fourth degree.

Goins said Thursday officers from the New Boston Police Department executed a drug search warrant at Vincent’s apartment. The search warrant was the result of a drug investigation of Vincent in which he said she had been selling hydrocodone pills at the apartment within the vicinity of juveniles on at least one occasion.

During the search, officers found cash and a large quantity of hydrocodone pills which is over the bulk amount. Vincent was arrested at the scene and transported to the NBPD for booking and processing and later transferred to the Scioto County Jail. She is scheduled to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court at 8:30 a.m. this (Friday) morning.

Goins said the NBPD encourages anyone who has information about drug dealing to call their crime and drug hotline at 740-456-4144 to report the suspected activities. He said callers would not be required to give their names.
