A West Portsmouth man turned himself in at the Portsmouth Police Department on Tuesday; wanted on charges involving a 15-year-old boy.

Police were searching for Billy Joe Wright, age 27, last week, and asked for the public’s help locating Wright, and warned that he may pose a danger to children. Police also believed that Wright was aware of the charges against him and knew they were looking for him. Detective Chuck Crapyou said citizens reported that Wright’s wife, Ashlie Nicole Wright — also known as Ashlie Faulkner — was also with him. He said if anyone should see Ashlie, chances are Billy Wright is close by.

Officers searched for Wright for several days. On Tuesday he contacted the Portsmouth Municipal Court on Tuesday and turned himself in to police at his parent’s house on Thomas Avenue.
