Ronald E. Ash, 69

Ronald E. Ash 69, of South Portsmouth, Ky., passed away Thursday Aug. 9, 2012 at SOMC Hospice. He was born July 11, 1943, in Portsmouth to the late Clyde and Thelma Mae Brown Ash. He was a 1962 graduate of Northwest High School, and a member of the Lucasville Masonic Lodge No. 465. Ronald loved to play the guitar and had been in several country bands in the area. He worked for Empire Detroit Steel as well as Lockheed Martin where he retired in 1995. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister in law; Ida Ash, and a nephew Ronnie Lee Ash.

Ronald is survived by his wife; Rita Peters Ash who he married May 27, 1978, two brothers; Clyde (Betty) Ash of New Boston, Richard (Pamela) Ash of Lucasville, along with several nieces and nephews who loved him very much.

Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Monday Aug. 13, 2012, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with George Vastine officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. There will be Masonic services Sunday evening beginning at 8 p.m. conducted by Lucasville Masonic Lodge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ronald’s name to SOMC Hospice.
