Vernon Hamilton, 77

Vernon Thomas “Pee Wee” Hamilton, 77, of South Shore, Ky., went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, July 23, 2012, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. He was born in Olive Hill, Ky. March 29, 1935, a son of the late Cecil Hamilton and Grace Rayburn Hamilton.

He was retired from the North American Refractory in South Shore, Ky., a Korean Air Force Veteran and a member of the South Shore First Baptist Church, also a member of the James L. Flannery American Legion Post #276 of South Shore, Ky.

Preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin Bivens, two brothers, O.P. Hamilton and Marvin Hamilton.

Surviving are his loving wife, Mary Lou Wolfenbarker Hamilton to whom he married Dec. 12, 1953, two daughters, Rhonda Hamilton Oyler of Savannah, Georgia and Alice Hamilton Choate of Nashville, Tenn., two sisters, Louise Hayden of South Shore, Ky. and Dolores Strunk of Falmouth, Ky., three grandchildren, Danyael Garcia, Sara Miller and Seth Choate and one great grandchild Keaton Garcia.

Funeral services 1 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in South Shore, Ky., with Pastors, Mark Lilly and A.J. Toney, officiating. Burial is in Mt. Zion Cemetery, South Shore, Ky. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and at the South Shore First Baptist Church Thursday from noon until the funeral hour. Military graveside services by the James L. Flannery American Legion Post #276 of South Shore, Ky.
